Suffolk police have arrested a man they say was stalking a Suffolk County lawmaker.
Police say Joshua Smith parked his pickup truck in the driveway of Legislator Robert Trotta’s Northport home multiple times, and revved his truck’s engine to intimidate Trotta and his family.
In an interview on News 12, the legislator says police set up surveillance on his home and found Smith at Supervisor Ed Wehrheim’s home.
Trotta also says Smith is the boyfriend of Ed Wehrheim’s daughter.
Wehrheim confirms to News 12 that Joshua Smith is a friend of his daughter, but says his campaign is still gathering the details and will have a statement once they gather all information.
