The U.S. Geological Survey reported a magnitude 1.8 earthquake in New Jersey Tuesday afternoon.

The earthquake, recorded around 1:30 p.m., occurred about three miles west of Gladstone. According to the USGC, the earthquake happened about three miles underground.

A small earthquake was recorded last month near Bedminster.
