Small aircraft crashes into New Jersey lake
A small aircraft crashed into a lake in West Milford Saturday at approximately 6:30 p.m., according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
The aircraft was carrying only the pilot at the time of the crash.
No additional occupants were on board.
West Milford police say their officers and firefighters were sent to the Green Turtle Pond, a New Jersey State Park Property, in the Awosting section where the plane landed in the water,
The pilot self extracted from the aircraft and refused medical attention.
It was not immediately what led to the incident.
The FAA said the information is preliminary and is subject to change as the investigation progresses.
