A taste of the Jersey Shore has arrived at Six Flags Great Adventure.
The park is celebrating the grand opening of Shoreline Pier, a newly reimagined family area inspired by the sights and sounds of the boardwalk.
The attraction features five family-friendly rides designed for parents and children to enjoy together. One of the new rides, the Hypno Twister, reaches speeds of up to 35 miles per hour while spinning riders forward and backward. Six Flags Director of Marketing Ryan Eldridge describes it as a moderate thrill ride that delivers the feeling of riding ocean waves.
Park officials say Shoreline Pier was created to give families more experiences they can share together. "It's supposed to help with that generational gap that we have at Great Adventure sometimes where it doesn't feel like you have a lot to do with kids," Eldridge said. "We're trying to provide opportunities and experiences."
The new area is part of a broader transformation taking place at the park.
Visitors can also enjoy live entertainment as part of Six Flags' Boardwalk Nights, which runs through August.
