You can now check out the incredible artwork on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel- but without leaving Brooklyn.
"Michaelangelo's Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition" is now open in Industry City.
"I'd say its one of the greatest artistic works of mankind without a doubt. And it has withstood the test of time," says Johanna Guttman, exhibition organizer.
Guttman explains Michaelangelo's frescos showcase high Renaissance art.
"He brings together science, showing a lot of perspective, the images are kind of turned, contra costa, which gives you perspective," she said.
Inside the exhibit, visitors walk through different sections of the Sistine Chapel.
The frescos are enlarged to give detail.
"A lot of people like to come because it is a spiritual experience for them or for some people want to come for the cultural or the artistic experience," said Guttman.
Visitors can also see arguably the most famous frescos, the Creation of Adam.
"The idea of God being sort of a fatherly type of God, man is very rooted on Earth and God reaching out," Guttman said while looking at the fresco. "Man sort of seems passive, God is the active one."
The exhibit runs through Jan. 5, and tickets start at $22 for adults.
