The four-day stretch of rain and storms came to an end today. There were sunny skies and temperatures in the 70s. That tricky, unsettled weather pattern has finally unraveled out to sea and the weather has finally quieted down.
This interlude with dry weather won't last much longer as another upper-level storm returns with another tricky forecast for tomorrow afternoon into Friday..
Thursday starts sunny and dry. The day will end with storms developing along another weather front, pinwheeling through the region. Isolated storms pop after 4 p.m. They are very scattered in nature, but primarily in the northwestern areas of New Jersey. The weather becomes wetter and possibly stormier after sunset.
Showers and a few leftover thunderstorms will linger into early Friday morning. Plan on a slow rush hour because of the weather. The bulk of the consistent rain exits the area by lunchtime, yet there could be a few residual rains lingering through 4 p.m. The weather will be slow to clear, but by Friday night, our skies should be much less cloudy and sunshine will lead us through the upcoming weekend.
