A Shirley man has been arrested for allegedly stealing automated license plate readers.

Suffolk police say Miguel Perez allegedly stole two Axon automated license plate readers from Moriches-Middle Island Road near Glen Drive on Aug. 2. He was arrested Monday on Carnation Drive.

The 68-year-old was charged with grand larceny and was issued a desk appearance ticket to be arraigned on a later date, according to police.
