Seniors get help using phones, other tech from Town of North Hempstead

The town partnered with the Family and Children's Association to bring a SMART van to New Hyde Park.

Long Island's senior citizens had a chance to get all their tech questions answered Wednesday, as the town of North Hempstead, along with FCA, brought its Senior Mobile Access to Resources & Technology, or SMART, van to New Hyde Park.
An FCA tech counselor was on site to guide residents through using their phone to send text messages, install and use navigation apps and provide tips on how to avoid mobile scams.
The SMART van will be making stops next month at the following locations:
Friday, April 11 at the Port Washington Adult Activities Center, 80 Manorhaven Blvd., Port Washington Friday, April 25 at the "Yes We Can" Community Center, 141 Garden St., Westbury
