        WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:
A system will be entering the Northeast late tonight, where it will be clipping the northern portion of our region with snow showers. North of I-84 is where some accumulation is expected. South of that highway, snow flurries are likely to come around but for most, you may not notice it. That is because the timing of the snow activity is late tonight, after 9 or 10 p.m. and wrapping up early Wednesday morning, around 2 or 3 a.m. The snow activity may add up to a coating to 1-2 inches north of I-84, and mainly in the Catskills. Nonetheless, there could be some slick spots on the roadways during the beginning of the morning rush.
Through much of the day on Wednesday, expect breezy to gusty winds. Winds will get up to 20-40 mph and will come along, with a round of on-and-off showers for the evening ride home. No accumulations are expected, but visibility could be lowered from time to time briefly.
The wind activity will back down by Thursday morning, but a chill will settle in. Thursday morning could have temps feeling into the teen and single digits but with lots of sun shining down, temperatures will rise and should feel better in the afternoon hours.
Thursday night into Friday, another system heads our way from the south. Because it is bringing a southwesterly flow of air, the temps will be rising into the low-40s. But initially, there will be temps in the low- to mid-30s. As the precipitation falls, it could start off as a wintry mix for the Friday morning rush. After the morning commute, expect a soggy day with rain showers through the evening hours.
