The victims of a fatal crash in Pelham Manor have been identified as parents in the New Rochelle school district, according to a statement from New Rochelle City School District's Superintendent Dr. Corey Reynolds.
Reynolds went on to add, "Our hearts and minds are especially with their children, who are an integral part of our school family, and with all those who share in mourning this tragic and heartbreaking loss."
One of the victims allegedly worked as a nurse at Mount Sinai in Manhattan.
In a statement made to News 12 today, Mount Sinai representatives said "The Mount Sinai community is mourning the loss of one of our own."
The crash occurred at the intersection of Pelhamdale Avenue and Shore Road early Tuesday morning.
Pelham Manor police say speed might have been a factor.
Investigators are still looking into what caused the crash and have not yet released the names or identities of the victims involved.
