Time is running out for shoppers in Montclair, even those stepping into their local toy stores before Christmas.

At Just Kidding Around on Bloomfield Avenue, the store feels like Santa’s workshop the day before the holiday. Shelves are packed with toys, and customers are scooping up last-minute gifts — though many say they’re not worried.

For some, it’s just about picking up a few extras. From games and puzzles to crafts, books and classic toys, there’s something for everyone on the shelves.

“For my nephew — he’s 7 years old — and he’s coming over the day after Christmas,” said Bob Golden, who was visiting the store. “My sister’s bringing him from Maine, and they’ll have fun playing this. I also bought him some books — some encyclopedias, too.”

Another customer, Dede, said she and her family were picking up presents to make together. “Lava lamp and friendship bracelets, right? Are you guys gonna make them together? Yes!”

Store owners said there’s still time for last-minute shoppers — the shop is open until 4 p.m.
