A One-Day Choir in Brooklyn allows participants to sing in a collective group without the stress of auditions and rehearsals.
It's hosted by Gaia Music Collective multiple times a month.
Organizers said they started the choir about 2 ½ years ago and it has become extremely popular with hundreds signing up for each event.
News 12 went to one of the events held in the basement of a Bushwick Church.
The theme that night was the Broadway hit musical and now hit movie "Wicked" and the song selected to sing was "Defying Gravity."
About 250 people showed up to participate.
"I think a lot of people to rewrite the story of how they interact with music and find their voice again and its really ya, beautiful," said Kenter Davies, facilitating artist.
Tickets are purchased by giving a donation of between $11-$33.
