A waterfront restaurant in Rye is giving visitors a place to relax, dine and enjoy the summer along the shore.

Barley Beach House is located in Rye Town Park on Oakland Beach.

"We're a waterfront restaurant located in Rye Town Park, right on Oakland Beach," owner Chris Surace said.

The restaurant serves American cuisine, including burgers, steaks, salads and seafood.

"We serve all kinds of food American cuisine, burgers, steaks, salads, and seafood because we're by the water," Surace said.

Live music is featured every Saturday and Sunday, along with special events throughout the season.

Visitors can also grab food and enjoy it on the beach.

"We have a whole concession area down there and it kind of ties into our beach deck area so you can actually take food down there and eat and dine on the beach," Surace said.

The restaurant is known for its relaxed atmosphere and waterfront setting.

"It's just laid back. It's fun. The food's good, the drinks are good. It's a relaxed atmosphere and there's always something going on," Surace said.

Frozen margaritas and frosés are among the most popular drinks.

The venue also hosts special events such as its Rosé and Rye celebration, which features live music, rosé cocktails and a charcuterie buffet.

"It's just a great place to come out and visit," Surace said. "You could go out for a walk in the park, enjoy the day in the park, hang out on the beach a little bit."

Surace said visitors can easily spend an entire day enjoying the attractions nearby.

"Very easily can spend the whole day here. No problem," he said.
