An Asbury Park café is bringing together coffee, creativity and community under one roof.
A Cup of Literature, which opened in January on Cookman Avenue, offers what its owners call a “lifestyle café” experience for families and book lovers. “We’re called a lifestyle café because we offer a multitude of different things,” said co‑owner Aubrey Chesna at the end of her statement. “It’s kind of just a place where the whole community could come together to hang out.”
The shop features a full coffee bar serving espresso, teas, hot and cold drinks and pastries. News 12’s Amanda Eustice sampled the Green Gables Matcha latte and said it was “so good.”
For readers, the café has two bookcases filled with a wide range of genres available for purchase. The owners also run a book‑trade system that lets customers bring a book and leave a book at no cost.
Co‑owner Julia Cangelosi said the café is designed to support daily routines. “You can have your whole morning routine here,” she said at the end of her statement. “You get your coffee, you get your book, you get your workout in, you can do work from home here. That’s what the lifestyle means.”
