The Department of Transportation is reviewing potential safety upgrades at a Brownsville intersection following a recent accident.
Nearly a month ago, a car sped down Rockaway Parkway, crashing into parked cars, according to video captured on a Ring camera. The driver also struck a 26-year-old and a 3-year-old at the intersection of Rockaway Parkway and Winthrop Street.
Ricky, a resident who witnessed the collision, said he has seen several crashes in the area since moving there.
"I didn’t know this area was like this," he said. "If I would have known, I would have picked another street to live on."
City data shows seven injuries have been reported at the intersection this year.
