A retaining wall collapsed onto a pedestrian and a vehicle late this morning in Yonkers, according to the fire department.

A department spokesman said crews were called to 125 Landscape Ave. just before noon for reports of a wall collapse with a pedestrian trapped. Neighbors were able to pull the man out before first responders arrived. He suffered injuries but was in stable condition.

The vehicle involved was partially buried by dirt and debris.

Fire crews immediately closed off the area and checked the remaining structure for stability. Officials are waiting for the building department and DPW to assess the site.
