A community in Midland Park is hoping that wildlife professionals can assist a buck that residents say has been walking around with debris tightly wrapped around one of its antlers for about a week.

Residents have been sharing photos of the deer to raise awareness and to find someone qualified to safely rescue the animal.

In the photos, the buck appears to have a pole and what looks like red fabric or netting tangled around one of its antlers.

Residents told News 12 New Jersey that they have contacted police, wildlife organizations, and other agencies in hopes of finding someone with the proper expertise and equipment to help.

So far, residents say they have been unable to find anyone who can safely intervene.

The community continues to monitor the deer and share sightings as they hope a qualified wildlife professional can safely free the animal.
