People were out and about Friday getting food and ice cream ahead of the intense heat.

The city issued an extreme heat watch for Sunday through Tuesday for the entire borough.

Some residents tell News 12 they are already preparing.

"Once we heard, we were like everyone get an A/C. Make sure your air filters are clean," said Rob, a Bronx resident.

Others noted the importance of staying hydrated as well as cool.
