The U.S. Geological Survery says the earthquake occured at around 10:17 a.m.

Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins said the county's emergency department had not recieved any reports of operational impacts or damage to infrastructure, including at the closed Indian Point Nuclear Facility in Buchanan.

Many residents throughout Westchester, however, reported feeling rumbling or the sound of a "boom."

"We heard what sounded like a dump truck slamming on the ground," said Dobbs Ferry resident, Aaron Cohn.

The last earthquake was last August, which registered a 2.7-magnitude centered in New Jersey.

It was felt in Westchester County and most of the Hudson Valley.
