A driver had to be cut out of a vehicle after a crash on the Northern State Parkway Thursday night.

The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department says the person was trapped inside an SUV.

Firefighters used the jaws of life tool to rescue them.

The incident happened on the Northern State near Lakeville Road in Lake Success.

The victim was taken by ambulance to an area trauma center, fire officials say.

State police tell News 12 there was only one vehicle involved and no criminality is suspected.
