Bronx Rep. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez is considering joining the 2028 presidential race.
In a recent interview with the New York Times, the congresswoman says she is weighing the gravity of the decision.
She is taking several factors into account, including her age, race and the fact that no female has ever won the presidency.
News 12’s Heather Fordham asked Cortez about her thoughts during an interview in April.
“That all depends on community support, whether it is on the presidential level, whether it's in any other level,” she said.
The congresswoman also told New York Times that she hasn’t ruled out challenging Chuck Schumer for his seat in the senate, saying she aims to work where she can “do the most good.”
