NWS ALERTS: There is a Coastal Flood Advisory from 11 p.m. tonight until 3 a.m. Friday for some possible minor coastal flooding along the LI Sound shore but should be very minimal. That's during high tide tonight. Otherwise, no alerts.
TROPICS: All is quiet again in the Atlantic Ocean for now.
While today is not perfect, I think the big drop in temperature will be welcome news for many of you! Summer heat is expected and enjoyable for a lot of people, but this week up until today was brutal!
We started this morning with scattered rain, but the bulk of that moved out quickly by around 7 a.m. Keep an umbrella and sunglasses with you for the rest of the day. Much of the day will be dry with breaks of sun, but a few spotty showers are possible through the day. The humidity lowered to comfortable levels this afternoon.
Tomorrow will be even cooler with highs only around 70 degrees. It will be mostly cloudy with just an isolated light rain shower on Friday. Most of the day is dry.
For the final weekend of June, it warms back up into the 80s. Saturday will be unsettled with off and on showers, but it is not raining all day. Keep the outdoor plans, but periodically check the radar and weather section on the news 12 APP for updates on where scattered rain is.
Sunday is the better half of the weekend. Much of next week looks nice with high temperatures in the 80s other than scattered thunderstorms on Tuesday.
An early look at the Fourth of July forecast looks great with sunshine and a high of around 87 degrees.
Have a great Thursday and enjoy the more comfortable air!
