Recent TikTok posts directed at New Canaan High School are being investigated, police say.

The investigation is being conducted by police in coordination with the Connecticut Intelligence Center and the FBI.

Police say they are looking to identify the individual or individuals responsible for the posts, which include derogatory content and messages that suggest students stay home from school. The department says "the origination of the posts" were from out of state.

Officers have determined that there is no creditable threat to the school, the town of the broader community. However, as precautionary measure, there were extra police at the high school Monday.

Police remind students and families to be mindful about the personal information they share about themselves and others on social media.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police immediately.
