Bronx homeowners who need repairs and accessibility modifications can get them for free through the nonprofit group Rebuilding Together NYC.
“This is one of the projects we're working on for the New York State Targeted Home Improvement Program. It's a state-funded grant program where we do critical home repairs and accessibility modifications for income-eligible New Yorkers,” said Shane Perez-Martin, the construction project manager for Rebuilding Together NYC.
News 12 visited a major project in Wakefield where crews were working on renovating the floors, roof, sewage pipes, ceilings, gutters, an unstable porch and more.
This is all thanks to grant money provided to Rebuilding Together NYC to conduct these free repairs.
Bronx residents in select ZIP codes may be eligible for assistance.
