Senior Assistant State's Attorney Marc Durso tells News 12 that Raul Valle is scheduled to be in Milford Superior Court Oct. 15 on the amended information charging Valle with reckless first-degree manslaughter for Jimmy McGrath's death and reckless assault for injuries to Ryan Heinz, Tommy Connery and Faison Teele.
The state filed the amended charges in July right after Valle was acquitted of the most serious charges he faced, including murder, for a stabbing during a fight at a house party in Shelton in May 2022. The trial lasted for weeks but only ended in a partial verdict with the jury hung on the reckless charges. The state wants to retry Valle on those four lesser charges.
Valle, now 20, was 16 at the time of his arrest but charged as an adult. McGrath, 17, was a standout athlete at Fairfield Prep when he died.
