FORECAST:
Areas of patchy dense fog could form tonight with our winds becoming calm and the atmosphere not drying out. Use caution on roads. That fog could roll in quickly.
The work/school week comes to a close with warm and humid conditions. Clouds and sun will mix in the sky. A weak wave of low pressure jogs up from the Chesapeake Bay area and a few isolated thunderstorms will arise. The majority of possible storms would develop in southern zones and along the shore early on Friday. The atmospheric fireworks hold off until Friday night and then again on Saturday.
A secondary storm that is roaming through the upper south will swing past New Jersey in that time frame. This is where the storm potential comes from Friday night and on Saturday. I don't think the whole day is a washout, nor do I think it will be a statewide soaker. However, pockets of strong storms will be lurking for Saturday.
Timing of storms:
Friday: 8 p.m. until midnight, then a lull. A few more storms just before daybreak.
Saturday: 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. While there won't be widespread severe storms, a few of the stronger storms may become severe with damaging winds and hail.
