The average for a gallon of regular gas on the Island is $3.56, which is why drivers were lined up at Sam's Club's pumps in Medford - where gas is a lot cheaper at $3.29 a gallon if you're a member.
You can also find cheaper gas if you're a member of Costco, BJ's and even Stop & Shop. If you don't have a membership to these stores, there are other ways you can save and earn money back.
If you download the free app called GetUpside, it can show you gas prices near your location and how much you will save per gallon using the app.
Once you fill up, you earn cash back and over time - that can add up.
