A Dix Hills man was arrested, accused in a murder-for-hire plot in Nassau County.
Court documents say Navdeep Singh planned to kidnap and kill a former business associate.
Prosectors say Singh worked with another person last week and agreed to pay $100,000 and 10 acres of land in India to do the job. They say Singh paid the hired killer $7,000 and gave him four cellphones to communicate last Thursday and provided a photo of the intended victim’s Nassau County home.
The pair then met in person on Saturday and dropped past the house before Singh was arrested the same day.
"Navdeep Singh and his alleged victim go back many years because they had business they have done together in the construction trade. But the pairs had a falling out roughly two years ago," said Nassau District Attorney Anne Donnelly.
The Nassau DA says bail was set at $1 million cash and $2 million bond. Singh is due back in court on Tuesday.
