A 37-year-old Princeton woman died after a multi-vehicle crash early Monday morning on Interstate 78 in Somerset County.

Troopers responded to the crash at approximately 1:04 a.m. on I-78 eastbound near milepost 27.8 in Bedminster Township, according to New Jersey State Police.

A preliminary investigation determined that Keisha P. Bruno, of Princeton, was driving a Kia SUV with a front-seat passenger when the vehicle collided with a Volkswagen passenger vehicle. The crash left the Kia disabled in a travel lane.

Police said a Volkswagen SUV traveling eastbound then struck the disabled Kia. The impact pushed the Kia off the roadway, causing it to overturn.

Bruno sustained serious injuries and was taken to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced dead. Police said the driver of the Volkswagen SUV suffered moderate injuries, while the passenger in the Kia sustained minor injuries. Both were taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The crash remains under investigation.
