June is Pride Month, and one local business in Brooklyn is making a positive impact on the queer community.
Hairarri, a local barbershop that gives gender-neutral haircuts, is located in Bushwick and prides itself on inclusivity and acceptance.
"Our spectrum of people that come in is all ages, all sexual orientations, all nationalities," said Hairarri's owner Magda Ryczko.
Barber Ashton Wells is a proud employee of this salon, and says that a simple haircut can play such a pivotal role in one's identity.
"It's like one of the quickest, easiest ways that you can portray on the outside, what you feel on the inside... so, I think that providing a space for that to be done is super important," said Wells.
Ryczko says that all businesses can do their part to be more inclusive by using gender-neutral terms and opening their doors to everyone.
