People living at a senior living community in Yorktown Heights will now have to spend the night somewhere else.
An electrical problem caused a power outage at the Country House in Westchester. According to the Yorktown Town Supervisor Ed Lachterman, there was an electrical arc that caused a power outage.
Large buses were used to take the seniors out of the facility and to a community center nearby. Lachterman says two patients are in hospice and were taken to the hospital.
Electricians are now on scene working to get the power restored as quickly as possible.
News 12 spoke with a woman who was picking up her father. She says she wasn't worried when she got the call.
"I really wasn't sure what was going on until I got here. I feel that it's very organized and they're taking good care of the residents," she said.
Lachterman says the power will be out until at least Friday.
