News 12's Storm Watch Team is keeping an eye on the weekend as a storm system develops off the coast.
As this storm forms, it won't feature the usual characteristics of a plain nor'easter nor a tropical storm, but possibly a combination of both.
In this case, we will be dealing with a "hybrid" system.
Impacts could be wide-ranging from heavy rainfall leading to flooding, strong winds causing power outages, coastal flooding and beach erosion, to an abrupt end of fall foliage season.
Details are still being ironed out as new data rolls in, but backup plans for any Sunday and Monday outdoor activities should be considered.
