Drivers are experiencing delays on Route 35 in Hazlet as utility crews investigate a possible gas line issue.

Officials have not yet confirmed whether a gas line was struck or whether crews were already working in the area as part of an ongoing construction project.

News 12 observed active construction along Route 35, with workers operating in the left lane approaching Hazlet Avenue.

Traffic heading southbound is moving, but drivers should expect delays through the area.
