        Police: Young bicyclist struck by car, airlifted to hospital

        The incident happened at around 4:45 Thursday afternoon near the corner of Oakfield and Barrie avenues.

        A young bicyclist was airlifted to a hospital after he was struck by a vehicle in Wantagh, police say.
        The incident happened at around 4:45 Thursday afternoon near the corner of Oakfield and Barrie avenues.
        Video from the crash scene shows a bicycle in the street, along with an SUV and a van.
        A first responder could be heard on the radio saying the bicyclist is 12 years old and suffered a fractured femur.
        Police say the boy is in stable condition.
        It’s not clear if any charges have been filed.
