A 44-year-old woman was injured as a pair of thieves stole her 2020 Lamborghini Urus from a parking garage at the Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, police say.
The incident happened at around 5:30 Tuesday afternoon on the top floor of the red parking garage.
The woman had just gotten into the flashy sports car when a man opened the driver's side door and threw her to the ground.
He and a second male suspect searched the victim’s jacket for keys, and drove off in the Lamborghini.
The victim suffered swelling and bruising to her left leg and ankle. She was taken to a hospital.
The two suspects are still on the loose. They’ve been described as adult men wearing black clothing and face masks. Police did not provide any further description.
This is the latest in a string of crimes at the Roosevelt Field Mall. Last month, there was a smash-and-grab robbery at Macy’s. An attempted smash-and-grab happened in August. In June, a woman was slashed, requiring 80 stitches.
A mall spokesperson did not address the incident specifically, except to thank Nassau County Police for its response.
They went on to tout the mall’s industry leading security program, writing, “Roosevelt Field is among the most protected environments in Long Island and criminals will be prosecuted if they come here.”
But some say they no longer feel safe at the Roosevelt Field Mall.
Lauren Greenfield, from Island Park said, “This has always been an upscale and well protected mall and I guess it’s not that anymore.”
