Nassau and Suffolk County police responded to two illegal street takeovers on Saturday night.
Suffolk police say 40 cars were involved in one incident at the Ronkonkoma Long Island Rail Road station parking lot. Officers were able to safely stop the activity and arrested two people.
Police also discovered a large illegal car rally on Stewart Avenue in East Garden City. They say 25-year-old Daniel Tiburcio, of Wantagh, was charged and will face a judge Sunday.
Nassau police have since released the following statement:
"If you take part in this unlawful activity, you can expect a robust police response. You will ticketed or arrested and we will seize your car. In addition, we are in communication with our partners in the NYPD and Suffolk County Police: there will be no safe haven.”
