        Police: Saugerties man arrested for rape of teen girl immediately after jail release

        Authorities say Ronald L. Burris III was in the Ulster County Jail when officials discovered that he had been electronically communicating with the alleged victim.

        Police arrested a Saugerties man accused of raping a 14-year-old girl just as he was about to leave jail, according to the Ulster County Sheriff's Office.
        Authorities say Ronald L. Burris III, 21, was in the Ulster County Jail for an unrelated crime when officials discovered that he had been electronically communicating with the alleged victim.
        Upon further investigation, police determined that he had had sex with the girl several times before his incarceration.
        Detectives arrested Burris on the day he was set to be released from jail. He is charged with rape and endangering the welfare of a child.
