A group of Rockland County teens are facing hate crime charges, accused of harassing people and yelling antisemitic slurs.
Two 17-year-olds harassed pedestrians while driving along Cragmere Road in the Town of Ramapo back on April 19, according to the Ramapo Police Department.
One suspect allegedly drove the getaway car, while the other shot water pellets at people from an Orbeez water pellet gun.
The teens from Airmont and Suffern sped away after yelling antisemitic slurs at the victims, according to investigators.
Both of the suspects were charged with aggravated harassment and released due to bail release laws.
Exactly one week later, the duo went back on the prowl with a third suspect, according to investigators.
This time, an 18-year-old passenger threw trash at pedestrians before yelling slurs and then speeding away, according to witnesses.
All three of the suspects were charged with aggravated harassment and are due back in court at a later date.
Antisemitism has “skyrocketed” across the United States in the three months since the Oct. 7 Hamas attacks on Israel, according to the Anti-Defamation League.
