Police are investigating a serious crash that shut down Starrow Drive for several hours Thursday night in the Town of Newburgh.
Town of Newburgh Police and detectives were observed examining a blue Jeep Wrangler Rubicon at the scene. Investigators were seen taking measurements and photographing the area.
Initial police communications indicated three children were struck by a vehicle shortly before 7 p.m. One child was reportedly airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in critical condition, while two others were reportedly taken by ambulance to Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital.
Debris was scattered around the vehicle, and bicycles could be seen nearby.
Starrow Drive, a residential street off Route 300, remained closed until around midnight as police continued their investigation.
