A head-on collision between two cars left one person dead Saturday morning in Copiague, according to police.
Authorities say 79-year-old Harold Deters was driving a Chevrolet Impala westbound on Montauk Highway when it crossed into the opposite lane around 5:40 a.m.
The vehicle collided with a Ford Escape driven by 66-year-old Lyubov Kozak at the intersection of South Emerson Avenue.
Police say Deters was rushed to Good Samaritan Hospital in West Islip and pronounced dead.
Kozak and his 66-year-old passenger were hospitalized with minor injuries.
