A police officer in Camden County was shot last night at the intersection of North Chesapeake and Congress roads.

Police say a weapon was recovered from the scene and the suspect is now in custody.

Investigators say the bullet bounced off the officer’s bulletproof vest and struck him in the arm. The unnamed officer is in stable condition.

It’s unclear what led up to the shooting.
