Police: Man who jumped off pier in Coney Island remains missing

The identity of the missing man and the reason why he jumped are still unclear.

The man who was seen jumping off the Steeplechase Pier in Coney Island Wednesday is still missing, according to investigators.
Rescue teams searched the water for several hours Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. The NYPD says it did not find anybody but that the search will not continue.
One man who spoke to News 12 said he saw the man take off his coat and shoes before jumping off the pier.
The identity of the missing man and why he jumped are still unclear.
