Police say a man is recovering after getting hit by a pickup truck in Hicksville.

According to police, the incident happened Wednesday night on Jerusalem Avenue near Nelson Avenue.

Police say the 59-year-old who was crossing the street suffered several injuries and was taken to the hospital.

The man is listed in stable condition.

The driver stayed on the scene.
