A person has been arrested for sexually assaulting a juvenile in Wilton, police say.

Police say it happened Sunday near the high school.

They say that because of an investigation, additional information will not be released. The suspect has also not been officially identified.

Police say they want to reassure residents that there is no ongoing threat to the public related to the incident.

They are also reminding residents who walk, run or exercise outside to be aware of their surroundings, keep their charged cellphone near them and report any suspicious activity to police.
