The Yorktown Police Department has issued an alert to residents in northern Westchester, notifying them that drones will be used in the area of Route 134 today as part of a Netflix production.
The drones will be used west of the Taconic State Parkway, and crews are expected to be in the area until around 7 p.m. However, the drones are only expected to be used during the daytime.
The alert was issued as concern increases surrounding recent drone sightings in New Jersey.
Yorktown Police Chief Robert Noble reminded the public that flying drones is not illegal but said it's essential to remember the laws surrounding drone usage.
Noble also encouraged residents to contact their local police department if they see something suspicious in their neighborhood.
