A 19-year-old man was shot in Homecrest, police say.

Witnesses tell News 12 they heard gunfire near a sneaker and streetwear store at 1213 Ave. U., and ran for cover just after 2:30 p.m. Monday.

The NYPD says officers found the 19-year-old outside 2410 Coney Island Ave., while another crime scene was established in front of 1213 Ave. U.

EMS took the man to Maimonides Medical Center. Police say he is expected to recover.
