State police say two people were killed, and another was hospitalized after Monday’s fatal crash Route 17 in Mamakating.
They say a car was traveling westbound near Exit 112 when it struck a tractor-trailer in the rear traveling in the same direction.
Officials say the driver, 29-year-old Joseph Wallace of Woodbourne, and a front seat passenger, 38-year-old Sharon Ackerman McGriff of Middletown, were pronounced dead at the scene.
The other passenger, 34-year-old Edward McGriff of Monticello, was listed in serious but stable condition at Westchester Medical Center.
