Police say they caught the man accused of hitting a 76-year-old woman with his car in Bridgeport before taking off.

It happened last year on Fairfield Avenue and Ellsworth Street.

Police say Paul Kwaku Amuzu hit the woman and left her in the road.

The victim was sent to the hospital in critical condition.

Amuzu is charged with evading responsibility with serious physical injury.
