Detectives say the man was driving a City of Long Beach vehicle on West Park Avenue around 8:40 p.m. when he struck a parked vehicle.
A 45-year-old woman inside the other vehicle suffered minor injuries, while the man was rushed to a hospital and pronounced dead.
Authorities say an investigation is ongoing.
