An SUV struck a bicycle in Waterbury on Friday afternoon, police said.
The crash happened at the intersection of Charles Street and Fifth Street at 12:52 p.m. The bicycle operator, a 42-year-old Derby man, was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
The Crash Reconstruction Unit is investigating.
